– Authors Map Description –
< Commander: High Command’s nerve center -DG2FreeMaps- has been Messmer-ized for the second consecutive year! Thanks to an exceedingly generous Commander, ‘pmessmer’ and the many other supportive Commanders, the site is secure for 12 more months. >
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This map is a Salute to those Commanders, who have supported this site.
In order to enhance this tribute, i have asked two other map makers to contribute challenges.
Thank You – "Grimlar" and "OriginalGlenn" for adding value to this map.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
– Each of the challenges have a unique-ness that reflects the creator. Grimlar’s missions will keep you on your toes. Once the resources and aliens start flowing it is "hair straight back" until the end. OriginalGlenn’s mission is difficult and requires timing for which, where and when you build towers and upgrades. My missions, i hope, meet the "goldilocks" standard but with some piercings and tattoos.
– Command Shuttle options are available
– this map was made to be both fun and challenging and to provide many hours of enjoyable gameplay …… therefore – Elite deserves it’s name, Easy is a fun frag fest, with Normal and Hard filling the gap, respectively.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All missions have been tested and beaten ( all cores retained ) on Open Elite.
It was Elitely tested "down-under" in the land of surf, sand and sunglasses by "AceOpticsAU".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another way Commanders can support this site is to simply leave a comment. Your comments provide map makers with valuable feedback, that tends to improve the quality of the maps. They let us know if we are driving down the center or veering off the road. Even a quick thank you serves the site, as it makes a person feel appreciated, which ultimately leads to more maps.

Grimlars Heavy10 Challenge was a work out!
I finally beat it, after many tries. 🙂
Wow, the last wave of the Super G Simple is not as simple as expected. 😉
Yes ….. the aliens that arrive on the pods beside the cores ( and a few others ) exit the map at the spawn points ….. it is intentional. I did it for 2 reasons:
1) – because the exit is so close to the cores there is no real chance to kill them …. the aliens had to be so weak that there was no reason for the pods at all …. but i do like the tension created when the sound of the cores leaving the housing happens …. so i left the pods there and sent them back to the spawns ….. as long as you kill them they are no problem, as when they hand off the cores the cores go back towards home …………… ( i did add a couple pod pads farther away that exit at the exit )
2) – mischievous play, …curiosity, …. to be different ……. 🙂
Ah, “when the sound of the cores leaving the housing happens” – I play without sounds and effects.
Maybe I should switch them on again…
Well done. It’s a good thing there are people like you razcle who make great maps !
Wow! The Aliens don’t stand a chance with 3 map makers working together!
This map is visually stunning; the different ways to play it and different modes will keep me playing this one!
And it did not crash for me, it all worked great!
Thanks 🙂
Razcel – I like the map… lots of paths and the collaboration idea is excellent. I am encountering a problem, when I get to almost to the end of level 38 the map crashes. I have tried to play it three different times on Story Mode and it doesn’t matter the level of difficulty (Elite, Hard, Normal) . Each time map closes it terminating DG2 to the desktop.

Bluto ……. does it happen on the other missions also, or only the story?
….. it is the same script as the story leaderboard and the story LB challenge, do they also crash for you?
– i just played the story through again and ….. wave 38 does drag on a little bit depending on the length of your path but all went well – i re-examined the script and it looks fine,
– i don’t know what to say ….. to be honest … i have no clue what happened but i will keep looking
– i wonder if any one else is having this experience?
thanks for your comment
Some waves are much harder than other, I have to try it again… 🙂
Three out of one box sounds great!
Thanks!
Keep the cores alive!
I have the impression, that the aliens coming from the landing pods (starting from wave >~30) are carrying the cores to the wrong exit??!! 😮
At least they are not moving to the exit which is located next to the core housing.
sorry ……….. i answered in the wrong spot ……. see above in comments
