– Authors Map Description –
< Commander : The aliens have hacked into our transporter system! They are now able use it themselves. Our security experts are busy, closing that breach in our defences. Until that time – we are on RED ALERT! >
< The sensor readings indicate that a central transport station is about to receive an overwhelming influx of transporter traffic. Be aware Commander, that to lose control of this hub is not an option. >
< There are 16 transporter stations or Pod landing sites on the small facility. It will seem like the raiders are popping out of the rivets. You will be hard pressed to preserve the cores. You must find some way to concentrate the aliens path (to maximize fire power) and at the same time, prolong their exposure to our weapons. Imagine the disruptions and mayhem that would occur should this station fall. >
< Commander, do what you do so well: Delay, Deny and Destroy. >

The name of the map, CoLab, says it all. This is a colaboration.
Grimlar started this map years ago, the physical map was complete but the scripting was still to be done. For one reason or another, he never got round to finishing it and it was set aside. He was doing some house cleaning, and decided to send me a couple of the unfinished maps that he was about to delete – on the off chance that i might want to finish them.
This one caught my eye right away. A small map with 16 entrances and 8 exits. The more i looked at it, the more i liked it. So, after, working together to make, a couple small tweaks, i took it over. The map is his and i have not changed it. I am responsible for the scripting of the missions and releasing it to this site.
As the map progressed and i added more waves ( grinder and super grinder ), it became a map that some players won’t like. It is a brain teaser, a puzzle and has ( i believe …. i could be wrong .. ) a single solution.
This is the result, a map that has:
– a challenging story mission – that has a few different ways to beat it
– a grinder and super grinder that are puzzles and are tricky to solve, although options are available in regards to tower choice and timing, i believe there is only one path setup that will work
– be prepared to <backspace> at some point
In terms of strategy and real problem solving, i think this is one of the best maps i have played ……
Since it won’t appeal to all players, i decided to release it with a
– – – – – – WARNING – – – – – –
this map can be quite difficult and may not be your cup of tea.
Please respect other players in regards to posting spoilers ( use the hint option to hide the text ). Thank you.
I will post a solution, at some time in the future, ( i have decided to wait to give players who like a challenging puzzle a chance to crack it first ). To get the high score on the leaderboard will be an achievement!
Any errors, bugs and balance issues are my responsibility not Grimlar’s.

Good puzzle, good challenge!
You need the right pathing, timing – and commander! 🙂
Wow! I see what you mean, it is tricky.
My first impression – can’t be done, impossible. Then, after backspacing and trying again and again, I saw a way. It is a good puzzle and I think I can beat it. So far my best is a silver on the super grinder, but i lose a few cores.
Thanks to you both for this map. 🙂
Nice to see some razcle highscores again. 🙂
– unfortunately my scores still do not save ……. i keep putting off doing something about it …… eventually i will fix it
– the scores that you see on the leaderboard from me are from a 1/2 year ago when i started testing the scripts ( before my profile stopped saving results )
– yes ….. this map took a long time ( working off and on ) to get it right and balanced
– with the grinder and super grinder – i do recommend starting on an easier level than normal ……….. to get a sense of the map’s dynamics and an appropriate strategy ……. what, where and when to build it …..
– remember your Command Team Specialists, with their special orbital weapons ……. although i believe they are not necessary, they will help
sorry, i meant to say – i recommend starting on an easier level than you normally play ….. example: Hard instead of Elite
Played grinder the first time – nice cloud effect! 🙂
