Hi “F.M.” from oldnewby in Canada
I received your invitation via the website comment emails.
And wanting to polish my game… attempted to sign you in as my Steam “Friend”…
But… I must be doing something wrong… when I searched for F.M. in Steam’s “Search the Community” page… I got 4,922 hits…
And looking through the first 1000… (Yes… I am enough of an old retired engineering nerd to look through the first 1000 of the members with your info in their handle or info… and found zero that also listed Australia… ) I also searched for “F.M.” and even looked for your bright red signature logo…
So… how about you friend me instead… When I typed in my “oldnewby” handle… there I was top of the list of 8… Now shown with an old photo of my little brother in a pedal car I rescued from the town dump when I was a kid… clicking on it confirmed that it had my DG2 info… only 175 hr.???

175 hrs your getting close to how long i have played dg2….i am only at 1971 hrs lol
Shark has 1641 hrs and another friend of mine had 964 hrs but nothing will beat his DG1 3418 hrs.

Hi Shark… I am having a lot of fun playing your maps… I am in awe of and applaud your imagination and energy…
Your efforts have reignited my 20+ year enthusiasm for strategic game play…
Though I must admit that I usually just stay on the “Story” line…
With this “Steel Henge” map… I have managed to achieve silver on each of the “Story” line levels while keeping all the cores intact… And yes I found ways to use your “command shuttle”…
But, like anst… I was disappointed to find that even with all cores intact on “Extreme”… it was not possible for me to exceed 27.6 million… and so could not achieve gold… Ouch!

Great to see you are finding Sharks maps fun…they are really challenging.
There are some strategies to getting those higher scores which will get you Gold on all Shark maps and modes on Open Elite . They will also help with any map playing Open Elite including HPE Campaign.

My favourite are Super Grinders……bring them on!!!!!
A good and challenging map. My only criticism (and I don’t mean to suggest something is badly done) is that I can’t seem to zoom in as close as I’d like to so seeing exactly what is going on is sometimes tricky. Small issue, mind, I just love the maps that have many options.

Another fantastic map Sharky, thank-you for keeping my interest in DG2 going. Some interesting modes available on this map with “Iron Age” being my favourite. Another easy 5 stars from me.
I played story mode hard. The beginning was tricky with the barriers and all but once I got going I was UNSTOPPABLE !!!
Of course I didn’t get gold even though I think I deserved one 🙂

Hey Anst,
You probably would have seen my post to Oldnewby but if not, if you need a few ideas on how to generate bigger scores which will get you gold on Open Elite on nearly ever map and mode feel free to friend me on Steam “F.M.” and I will see if there are some things you aren’t doing to get you there 🙂
Are there any rules for bigger scores anywhere on internet? Or is private messaging on steam the only way to find out? :))

No, no rules.
My comment was written at a time we didn’t have the ‘hint’/spoiler option.
Some players don’t like info but we have the button now so check out below if there’s something your not doing 🙂
You get a higher score the longer the aliens are alive so make them travel around as much as possible without killing them until they get close to the cores. Use temporals along the pathing to slow them down even further. The resources grow allot bigger which gives you a way better score. It is a balancing act between defending and spending on the pathing. Super Grinders are the best fun for this.
Check the following…..
• Are the tower upgrades you are using on level 5
• Make sure you use distruptors that link up so healers cant heal others
• Make sure when pathing that you try to make ‘U’ turns as they are way better than just a constant maze
• Concussions on level 5 ‘Fire Bombs’ are your friend
