– Authors Map Description –
< Commander: The frequency of the Alien raids have not only increased, the invading forces are now also larger. Station 99 is under attack, and needs a defensive grid to be established, right away! The station has the framework of an older automatic defense system. It is an aged and sluggish mechanical structure that should be retired. You must use what is there, and set up a defensive grid on it that will last until a proper retrofit can be done. >

– this is a fun and challenging map, something to enjoy while we socially distance and/or quarantine
– this map will undergo changes as the missions progress
– there is an Command Shuttle option available on all modes, except on the <super G Simple>
– there will be lots of aliens, and resources, it will be a balance between challenge and score
( the more you spend – the easier it gets to keep the cores – the lower your end score )

– practice proper protection protocol – be smart, stay home and stay safe ……
wash hands frequently, maintain a 2 meter buffer if you must go out

– i did the testing, tuning and balancing myself …. so although i have played it
many times, i could easily have missed something …. if i did …. please let me know

…….. 102 waves of Walkers – 3 spawns – 1 exit -with a Boss last wave
< super grinder:
…….. 140 waves – custom script – 3 spawns – 3 exits – 8 pod pads
< super G Simple:
…….. 100 small simple waves – 1 spawn – 1 exit – no pods – no Shuttle option or transforms
< super G challenge:
…….. 90 massive custom waves – 1 spawn – 1 exit – 8 pods – map opened full no transforms

Hiya–I have thoroughly enjoyed all the maps you have created over time and would love to create one myself. That being said the info on using the editor is kind of nebulus. Could someone produce a video that takes us from scratch to create maps or be able to deconstruct existing maps to “add” on to them? The videos I have found were blurry, or just talking about the steps. Is there a user manual I am missing that teaches this craft? Thanks.

i used the videos and they kind of got me started ….. enough to make my first two maps ….
they were not very good ….. but i had offers of assistance from players and a lot of actual useful help from Grimlar
– by friending with him on steam and using the chat – i had specific questions answered, step by step guidance while i was making a map ( i have 2 monitors .. the chat on one and DG2 Architect on the other) and if i really messed up i would send it to him and he would look to see what i did, then tell me how he fixed it …… it is now my turn to do what Grimlar did
i am lousy at making videos ….. i do better ‘one on one’, when i instruct …… am retired and have lots of time ….. and would love to walk you or anybody through making a map and/or answer all your specific questions ……….. send me a friend request on steam
Suspiria has pointed out to me a possible glitch. Placing towers that will block the side entrances to the core housing before the 5th wave will result in a path blockage and the aliens will walk through those towers as if they were not there, until the maps next transform …… then all is well again
There is 2 reasons for this:
– 1 – as the map maker i can see the forest and the trees, so i didn’t consider putting towers there – knowing the spawn points were going to move and it slipped by me
– 2 – the game code doesn’t allow building a tower that will block the path ( red cursor over tile ) ….. however the path is reconfigured again after each transform …… HPE didn’t move the spawn points around on a map, so they did not create code that would allow the game to consider stuff that was not there yet ……
i guess there might be a third reason ….. i am one of those people who like to push the envelope

It played out way differently. Each mission was a little different and a good challenge.
