~ ~ Leary Space Depot ~ ~

< Commander: The Leary Space Depot, established on the asteroid LSD-25, has been targeted for attack. The energies in that sector are very strange and can alter perception. It can be quite unsettling or mind expanding, depending on your psychological profile. >
< Commander: Have a nice trip. Remember to keep your mind on the task, and .. ahh...don't drink the Kool-Aid! >

“When the light turns green, you go. When the light turns red, you stop. But what do you do when the light turns blue with orange and lavender spots?”
~ Shel Silverstein, from 'A Light in the Attic' ~

  1. Man, this map is a work of art!
It is like being there! or having a flashback!- all the incredible colours and things moving
I keep coming back to this map, just for the visual experience.
It is also a challenging map to play. A win/win.
    Thank you 🙂

  2. No luck with all those new maps, the game crash between wave 34 and 35.
Could someone that can finish them post his config at least cpu, ram, graphic, game settings and OS.
Is someone with more than a 4 cores cpu succesfully play it ? If I activate hyperthreading the game crash on startup without it I can play some older maps but on 1920*1080 on low/medium.

    1. i don’t know what the problem or fix is …. and i don’t know if this will help – but this is my config
( my hot rod gamer pc fried and i had to settle for this wimpy-er replacement pc due to economics)
it works fine no burps, hiccups or crashes

      Intel Core i5-6400 cpu @ 2.70 GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
      8192MB RAM
      Win 7 pro 64-bit
Radeon RX 460 current display mode 1920×1080 (32 bit)
my game settings are: resolution – 1680×1050
      full screen – off
      quality – very high
      vsync – on

    2. That sounds like you got older hardware which causes problems. You should tell us your specs.

DG2 runs absolutely fine on my two notebooks. Hyperthreading is always activated. Resolution in DG2 is always 1080p and Os is always Win 10 64.
      i3 6157u, 4 cores, (2/2)
      8GB DDR4
      Intel Iris 550 shared mem
      full screen – on
      quality – medium
      vsync – on

      i7 7700HQ 8 cores (4/4)
      GTX 1050 4GB
      16GB DDR4
      full screen – on
      quality – very high
      vsync – on

    3. My PC was built a few years ago and had the same specs as now but with windows 7.
About a year ago I started getting crashes and blue screens ever time the game would get to the really heavy waves. I replaced the power supply, put in a new Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti (which was the same as prior just new), a wayyyy larger fan and installed windows 10.
Since then I have had zero crashes or issues.

      These are my specs……

      Intel core i5-4690 CPU @ 3.50GHz
      Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
      8GB RAM
      Windows 10 64-Bit
      Fan Hyper 212X CPU Cooler
      Game settings…
      Resolution – 1920×1080
      Full screen – on
      Quality – very high
      Vsync – on

You dont need the latest you just need new as things wear out.

      1. My gaming pc : I7-7820x 8cores 16 threads, 32 gigs of ram, sli of 1080ti and win10. I tried every resolution and every quality levels. No luck so far, but I think it is most probably something with the cpu.
With the previous one i7-4770 4 cores 8 threads 16 gigs it was running fine with the 1080ti sli and win10 on any resolution.
Thanks to all for your answers, I will continue my investigations.

          1. I disabled 4 cores in the bios and I’m good to go.
Only problem I have to reboot every time I want to play it to disable cores but at least I can play it again.

    4. Good news for those , like me, who struggles with the game crashing all the time !
I removed all the custom maps and only installed a few and it seems that the crashes have disappeared.
This might be because some buggy map created the problems or that I had too many. I have downloaded all maps I could find so I have a few

I also moved the game files in steam from my D drive back to the C drive but I don’t think this fixed anything since I’ve tried it before.
I have now played three big maps without a crash and before I usually couldn’t even start a map so this is a big difference.
I have seen before that a buggy map might cause DG2 to crash so perhaps this was the reason. I plan at some time to try to find out which by installing half the maps and see if the bug appears and so on.

So if you have problems with the game crashing, try to rename the C:\Users\\Documents\DG2 folder and create a new. Then just install f.ex. new maps that you want to try and perhaps some favourites and see if this helps.

I will copy this message to the comment section of some more maps so hopefully everybody will see it. If this works for anybody else (or not) please leave a message here.
      Best regards

  3. Since Timothy, the founder of our space depot, left the station, the military has ocupied LSD-25 and established one of their MK-Ultra programs. Therefore, the aliens are much harder to defend as we know it. Use your forces very well to beat all of them because they feel no pain. They’re so much mind controlled that they can marching through the fire.
